The IPPC mark includes the following parts:
1.Symbol:The mark should bear the words "IPPC," indicating that the wood packaging product complies with the international standards of the IPPC.
2.Country code:The mark will contain a two - letter ISO country code indicating the country of origin of the wooden packaging product.
3.Producer number:This is a unique code assigned to the facility that manufactures or processes the wooden packaging.
4.Treatment method:This is one or more letters indicating the method of treating the wooden packaging, such as HT (heat treatment) or MB (methyl bromide fumigation).
The IPPC mark certifies that the wooden packaging has been properly treated to eliminate potentially harmful organisms, such as insects or diseases. Many countries require this mark on imported wooden packaging materials; otherwise, it may be rejected by customs or require further treatment. If your exported products use wooden packaging, it is very important to understand and comply with the IPPC standards.
